Sakarya Prefabricated Housing Estate

38 prefabricated homes of 90 m² for a cooperative in Sakarya were completed within 4 months. The homes were produced with a light steel frame and fibre cement facade cladding; each home has a private garden and parking area on a 220 m² plot. In the middle of the estate there is a 180 m² meeting hall and a children's playground.

Strip foundations were used after the ground survey. The homes were shipped ready and installed on site at a rate of 2 homes a day on average. The heating system is a separate heat pump in each home.

Result

The homeowners received their keys 128 days after the contract. In the project, occupancy permits were delivered with the homes; cooperative members benefited from mortgage loans.

Lessons from this project

Planning site preparation and the access road in advance directly shortens installation time. In every project we prepare a written site handover report with the employer for foundation preparation and draw the turning of delivery vehicles and crane position beforehand.
