Metro Line Site Camp (240 Persons)

A 240-person camp for a rail system construction in Ankara was installed on site in 21 days. The camp consists of 30 40 ft dormitory, 6 canteen-kitchen, 8 office, 4 WC-shower and 2 laundry containers. Electricity distribution, a water tank and wastewater collection systems were delivered with the camp.

The layout was divided into three clusters: dormitory zone, shared living area and office zone. Fire evacuation routes and the assembly area were planned with the OHS specialist. At the end of the project, the units were dismantled and re-erected for another project.

Result

The camp shortened the employer's site mobilisation by about 4 months. It operated at 99.2% availability throughout the 18-month project.

Lessons from this project

Planning site preparation and the access road in advance directly shortens installation time. In every project we prepare a written site handover report with the employer for foundation preparation and draw the turning of delivery vehicles and crane position beforehand.
