The light steel building system offers high thermal insulation and low weight together, with a frame of galvanised cold-rolled profiles, OSB sheathing and cement-based external cladding. Being 6 – 10 times lighter than a reinforced concrete building, it significantly reduces earthquake forces.
System layers
- Galvanised steel frame (C and U profiles)
- OSB-3 boards and waterproofing membrane
- Rock wool infill (100 – 150 mm) and vapour barrier
- Cement-based external board with mineral render or cladding
Permit and financing
A building permit is obtained for light steel villas; some banks offer mortgages for light steel homes with an occupancy permit. We provide structural and architectural design support during the permit process.
Delivery time averages 12 – 16 weeks for a 180 m² two-storey villa.
