Gebze Logistics Hall

The hall built in Gebze for Körfez Logistics is a column-free warehouse measuring 36 × 100 metres with a 10-metre eaves height. The steel structure was produced in our factory and completed in 11 weeks in total: 6 weeks of production and 5 weeks of installation.

The roof and facade were clad with 60 mm PIR sandwich panels; 6% polycarbonate skylights on the roof provide daylight. The floor was made with 18 cm thick steel-fibre, laser-screeded hardener concrete and carries 4.5-tonne forklift loads.

Technical summary

Total steel weight is 118 tonnes, with steel consumption of 33 kg per m². For fire safety all columns were coated with intumescent paint giving 60 minutes of resistance.

Lessons from this project

Planning site preparation and the access road in advance directly shortens installation time. In every project we prepare a written site handover report with the employer for foundation preparation and draw the turning of delivery vehicles and crane position beforehand.
