Istanbul Prefabricated School Building (12 Classrooms)

For an education foundation, a two-storey school building with 12 classrooms, a library and administrative sections was completed in Istanbul in 62 days during summer break. The building was produced with light steel panels containing double plasterboard and 100 mm rock wool for sound insulation.

In line with school building standards, a disabled ramp, evacuation stairs and a fire alarm system were included. Heating and cooling are provided by heat-recovery ventilation in each classroom, so indoor air quality meets school standards.

Result

The school, which began teaching in September, serves 380 students. The foundation ordered an 8-classroom annex with the same system for the following year.

Lessons from this project

Planning site preparation and the access road in advance directly shortens installation time. In every project we prepare a written site handover report with the employer for foundation preparation and draw the turning of delivery vehicles and crane position beforehand.
