Ankara Automotive Showroom and Service Building

The 1,800 square-metre steel building for an automotive dealer in Ankara, consisting of a showroom, service workshop and office sections, was delivered in 14 weeks. The showroom facade was designed with 7-metre-high, column-free glass surfaces; the floor was reinforced for six vehicle lifts in the service workshop.

The steel structure easily spanned the large openings the architect wanted. The facade was adapted to the dealer's corporate identity with a combination of aluminium composite panels and thermally insulated glass.

Result

The dealer opened the building 4 months after the contract. An order for a second branch with the same system was placed.

Lessons from this project

Planning site preparation and the access road in advance directly shortens installation time. In every project we prepare a written site handover report with the employer for foundation preparation and draw the turning of delivery vehicles and crane position beforehand.
